About Mariana H. Qubein Botanical Gardens
We are a botanical garden and arboretum located on the campus of High Point University. Our gardens feature a diverse collection of plants and trees, and are free and open to the public 7 days a week, from 8 am to 8pm.

Farm stands, orchards and public gardens round out a trip to the garden center. Farm shops and stands sell produce, eggs, honey and often vegetable starts and hanging baskets in spring; orchards and u-pick farms open for strawberries, blueberries, peaches, apples and pumpkins in season; Christmas tree farms sell choose-and-cut and pre-cut trees and wreaths from late November. Botanical and public gardens, arboretums and conservatories are good places to see which plants thrive locally, and community gardens rent plots and share tools and knowledge.

High Point is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around High Point is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I visited because the gardens are accessible with a visitors pass. The gardens are beautiful. But the cafe is not accessible to the public. They only serve the students and those with a specific card given to them by the University. For the college, I suggest for those visiting, an upcharged amount for the things the cafe offers to donate to a student fund. Or something similar.

I am a photographer based in Burlington, I had never been to the HPU Campus or the Gardens for a session before so I messaged the Botanical Gardens Facebook page to ask if they had a photographer fee. Faith told me they do not charge a fee, and that it is free to the public! She was so quick to respond and also sent me the full Garden map and all of the best locations to take photos! She even met me the day of the session and helped show us around. I could not have asked for a better experience for my clients and I, thanks to Faith! I will most definitely be back for future sessions at this gorgeous botanical gardens on this campus!
